This hand embroidered blue denim jean jacket with Sashiko stitching is a one of a kind piece of artwork. First I made the pieced patchwork that is on the back. I drew and stitched the Sashiko design (**). Then I dded the binding piece to really make the white stitching pop. I thought the jacket could use some more details so I drew and stitched the plum flower patches and designs on the front of the jacket. Let me tell you, denim is not a fun material to hand stitch. I still thought it could use more and I decided to add the stitches around the cuffs. I think it’s perfect. This upcycle was done with an Old Navy large jacket. It fits like a large. I’m between a large and extra large. I would wear this open but it’s not comfortable closed. I am modeling with a grey t-shirt. This project took several hours over several days. I hope you love it.
