First edition, first printing oversized hardcover copy of George Frideric Handel : Messiah, The Workbook for the Oratario (HarperCollins, 1992). Intro by Christopher Hogwood, verse selected by Charles Jennens, paintings by Barry Moser. Signed by Moser on title page - known for his work on Lewis Carrol’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass / A River Runs Through It / Moby-Dick / The Divine Comedy of Dante - as well as being the recipient of many awards, having his work in numerous galleries across the globe and runs his own print making and small-run press (Pennyroyal Press). This copy has some wear around the edges and faces of jacket, appears to have been remainder-marked on bottom edge of text block, and though the binding remains intact, some of the string used in the process can be seen in the gutters of many pages. All pages are clean and unmarked, besides the autograph. See photos for condition.
